Natural Remedies That Really Work
1. Mosquito Bites
First of all- DON’T SCRATCH! Scratching release the immune response making it even harder to stop the itching. As soon as you can, apply a drop of Lavender oil. Apply as often as you need. Don’t cover.
2. Ear Aches
This is especially effective for infants. Place one drop of essential oil of Lavender into the ear canal and insert a small cotton ball. The cotton is optional. Repeat as often as necessary. For children over the age of 4, essential oil of Thyme may also be helpful. If there is any question as to whether or not the tympanic membrane is intact, apply the essential to a cotton ball and place gently into the ear, don’t drop the oil into the canal.
3. Diarrhea
Boil a small amount of rice until the water is milky with rice starch. Remove the rice and allow the liquid to cool. The rice will not be completely cooked. Take a 1-2 TBS of the rice water every two hours until the diarrhea stops.
4. Diaper Rash
Clean the skin thoroughly with a mild, natural soap and water. Apply 1/2 tsp of sesame oil, coconut oil or a combination with a drop of Tea Tree oil to all surfaces. Re-apply three times a day. If the condition worsens, consult a doctor.
5. Sinusitis
Many sinus infections are yeast based and not bacterial. Taking an antibiotic may help the symptoms for a short time but the problem usually returns and sometimes is worse. Try this simple remedy. Place two drops of the following essential oils in a glass or ceramic bowl: Eucalyptus, Red Thyme, Lavender, and Tea Tree. Pour a cup of boiling purified water over the oils, place a towel or blanket over you and the bowl (tent) and breath deeply through your nose. If you nose is stopped, try to increase the breaths through the nose after starting through the mouth until the nose clears. Continue for 5 minutes and repeat 2-3 times a day.
6. Anxiety
If you suffer from occasional anxiety try some or all of the following:
- Hydration – drink at least two liters of water a day away from meals and bedtime.
